Daily Post

Good morning my friends.

For those who attended the TASS Event last night and are waiting to view and take some of my photo's, ( which you are free to take ), I just wanted you all to know that it will take some time to post. Many, many photos to edit! So please be patient with me, and I will post on Facebook when it will all be completed.

Other than that, I had a wonderful time. It's nice to meet new people and photographers. I primarily came to the event to see the up and coming designers in Vancouver, most importantly my friend, Tommy, ( Yasuhiro Tomita of Rukus ),and of course he was the last to show. The best is usually always the last at these kind of events.

I have to be honest and I am not being biased, but it was a difficult time for me waiting for him to come out and it took forever. I know events are almost NEVER on time. It was a little frustrating.
There were some collections that inspired me and many that I couldn't really relate to...just being honest and I know it was some of the designers first collection and show. Kudos to them and I congratulate them. I know that it is hard work and it takes time and usually involves deadlines and extra needed assistance.

Okay, here comes the bad stuff. I still see collections that are not finished, not suited to the models figure and out of date. Some collections seemed to have tried to be current, but a little off. Fashion today is basically everything goes, but there is a method to the madness. Mixing patterns and fabrics is in, but...you know what, I'll just leave it at that. I can keep going, but I know I will offend many people some of which are my friends.

On a good note. The models, for the most part were fabulous! Friendly and kind and humble, not to mention professional and calm, amongst the chaos. I applaud you all! It was crazy and the energy was challenging in the early stages.
Even though this was a free event, they were expecting donations and no one seemed to at first. A lot of parents supporting their talented children but forgetting that this was a non-profit event and just took a seat without thought of supporting the function they were attending. Eventually, most caught on...thank goodness. We need to keep these events going and your help is always a plus so we can continue to have these fabulous events.

It was so nice to see some of my 'fashion family', like always, and I appreciate the kind words and support.
In conclusion, I had a great time as always and for the Collections that stood out for me, made me smile.

This is my voice and I'm real and can't always be the " Nice Photographer and Blogger." I must express my true feelings and I wish all designers a great future and to learn from your peers and colleagues.

To Tommy and Frederick, thank you for inviting me. I had a wonderful time and look forward to working with you both in the future.

To Keiko, so nice to see you again and Melissa, thank you for accompanying me. I hope you enjoyed yourself. I'm sorry we couldn't talk as much as I wished to.

Thank you,
Rafael
